MUSICIANS NEED YOUR HELP

The suspension of live music under lockdown has cut off most artists’ one dependable source of income – gigs.  Despite this, throughout lockdown artists have been selflessly entertaining their fans for free, performing live streams for charitable causes and even offering guitar lessons in exchange for donations to food banks.

And on top of that payments from streaming services are so woefully negligible that they don't come close to filling the massive hole in artists’ incomes.

Now it’s time to look after our musicians!

’PAY WHAT YOU WANT’

Most VFB Live performances are being streamed on a 'Pay What You Want' basis. You don't have to pay anything to watch one of these live streams but we urge you to donate whatever you can.  Every donation, however small, will make a positive difference. 

We're running the streams so there are zero upfront costs to the artists. There's no risk: they don't have to hire a venue or studio and they don't have to hire streaming equipment and engineers - we're supplying these for them. We're covering our expenses by taking a small percentage of the overall donations; the lion's share goes straight to the artists. For more info please email ed@vansforbands.co.uk.

THESE CONTROL MEASURES INCLUDE:

1. Cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures

We have increased the frequency of handwashing and surface cleaning by:

• encouraging all those on site to follow the guidance on hand washing (20 sec rule) and hygiene (Catch it, Bin it, Kill it)
• providing hand sanitiser and tissues around the site, in addition to the washrooms
• frequently cleaning and disinfecting objects and surfaces that are touched regularly
• providing paper towels for hand drying
• putting up appropriate signage throughout the site
• supplying workers with disposable gloves

2. Maintaining 2m social distancing, where possible

Where possible, we maintain 2m between people by:

• utilising a large open plan performance space
• putting up signs to remind workers of social distancing guidance
• avoiding creating any access bottlenecks
• encouraging interactions in open air

3. Where people cannot be 2m apart, managing transmission risk

Where it’s not possible for people to be 2m apart, we have done everything practical to manage the transmission risk by:

• providing all workers with face masks
• keeping the activity time involved as short as possible
• erecting large Perspex screens to separate areas within the performance space

4. Self-reporting

If anyone becomes unwell with a new continuous cough or a high temperature in the workplace they will be sent home and advised to follow the stay at home guidance.  Site managers will maintain regular contact with workers during this time. Site team managers will contact the Public Health Authority to discuss the case, identify people who have been in contact with them and will take advice on any actions or precautions that should be taken.
